29 year old Elia Pietschmann died after a motorcycle accident in Sardinia. He died after falling from the bike on the roads of Sardinia: he was on vacation on the island with his father.

Elia, riding his motorbike, flew off an overpass and the rescue and air ambulance transported him to the Olbia hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival while the doctors desperately tried to revive him.

The incident occurred in the late afternoon of Easter Monday. After losing control of the bike near a bend, Pietschmann flew down into an escarpment.

The tragedy happened all before the eyes of his father, also a motorcyclist, who followed Eliaa short distance away. The two, both from Pisa, had reached Sardinia carrying motorcycles with them and were spending a few days of vacation together under the banner of a common passion for two wheels.

Elia Pietschmann, who was a professional actor, had also acted in some episodes of the ‘Delitti del Barlume’, achieving – in 2003 and 2004 – important awards at the Bergamo Film Festival both as the best leading actor and as the best supporting actor. (both in the under 18 category).

The 29-year-old also participated in the television program Quelli Che Il Calcio as a co-director in 2014 and – with the same role – had directed the filming of concerts by Piero Pelù, Caparezza, Afterhours and Giovanni Lindo Ferretti.

Elia, born in Viareggio (Lucca), was a Pisan by adoption. For some years the actor had moved to Rome.

At the cinema he appeared in three films: Freaks (2019) directed by Mainetti, Natale a Londra (2016) directed by De Biasi and The Tuscany Wedding (2015) directed by Nijenhuis.
