Homemade recipes are the absolute best! They are affordable, easy and effective! I’m sharing a new one I tried to help get rid of my dandruff after getting the result I did.
Dandruff is a common chronic scalp condition that every woman dreads. It is sometimes caused by bad lifestyle habits while for some it’s a reaction and in some cases, more serious. Because of this, beauty enthusiasts have come up with several formulas to get rid of this embarrassing scalp condition. I think I just joined the pack with this new recipe I tried!
The trick I followed to get my magic recipe was to research individual products that are beneficial to the hair. I finally decided to go with four ingredients; mayonnaise, honey, egg-white and blended onions.
Each ingredient has its benefits:
- Mayonnaise leaves your hair feeling soft, lustrous and it seals the shine in. It also contains ingredients like lemon juice, vinegar and soybeans which helps with dry scalp. (Coconut oil can be used as a substitute)
- Just like mayonnaise, honey locks in shine and retains moisture. It is also a natural antibacterial agent which promotes a healthy scalp
- Egg whites are packed with nutrients that curb hair loss, strengthens the hair, adds volume and improves hair texture
- Onion juice helps to increase the supply of blood to the hair follicle which aids hair growth. Also, its rich antibacterial properties promote a healthy scalp free of infections
All you have to do is mix these ingredients in the proportion you need. Apply a generous amount and massage generously into the scalp, next cover with a shower cap. Leave it on for a minimum of an hour and rinse with lukewarm water. Dry and style as per usual. Voila! Repeat this at least twice a week for fast results.
Side note: Of course the egg smell is a little turn off but the results will make up for that. I did and saw instant results that I’m happy with.
