Today, Hemet Explorer Post #378 will lay to rest one of their own, Michael Ojeda.
Michael had been a proud member of the Hemet Sheriff’s Station Explorer Program since 2017, until his death on May 5, 2019.
The explorer program was developed as an opportunity to introduce young, upstanding people to the world of law enforcement at an early age. It is a special kind of person that knows from such an early age that they want to devote themselves to the protection and service of others. If you ask anyone who knew him, Michael Ojeda embodied that exact representation.
Deputy Enochs, who currently serves as one of the coordinators for Hemet Explorer Post #378, said of Michael, “He was driven, he would set a goal for himself and work extremely hard to achieve it.
This was not just a loss to the explorer program, but without a doubt it was the loss of what might someday have been a great law enforcement officer.
On behalf of the Hemet Sheriff’s Station and Explorer Post #378, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Explorer Michael Ojeda.
