Police Stray Bullet Kills Popcorn Seller In Port Harcourt

An unidentified man was, yesterday, killed by a stray bullet alleged to have been shot by policemen at Emenike Junction, by St. Andrews State School, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The deceased, who sold popcorn, lay in a pool of blood when Vanguard visited the scene.

An eyewitness said: “I had barely left the spot when the unfortunate incident happened about 3p.m.”

It was not clear which Police team fired the shot or which the direction it came from.

The state Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, and Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, were yet to confirm or respond to the incident when contacted at press time.
