William Moden accident: Colorado state trooper death Interstate 70 near Denver.
Colorado state trooper William Moden died Saturday morning June 15 2019 after he was struck by a vehicle on a rural stretch of Interstate 70 east of Denver while he was investigating another crash on Interstate 70 near Deer Trail.
Police confirmed he died from his injuries.
William Moden accident:
37 year old Trooper William was outside of his patrol car investigating a crash when he was hit by another car and sustained serious injuries on Interstate 70 between Peoria and Deer Trail in Eastern Arapahoe County around 9:40 p.m. Friday night, according to CSP Chief Col. Matt Packard said during a news conference early Saturday morning.
The highway was completely closed in both directions between Peoria and Limon following the accident.
Colorado State Patrol’s Public Affairs Unit confirmed trooper William Moden death in a statement released on Twitter that read:
“With overwhelming sadness we can confirm that a Trooper with the Colorado State Patrol was struck and killed in the line of duty tonight.
“We ask you keep their family, our CSP family, first responders on scene, and all others affected in your thoughts and prayers.
Trooper WilliamModen loved his family and loved being a Colorado State Trooper. Our hearts are heavy and he will be sorely missed.”
A procession for fallen officer William will take place from the hospital early Saturday morning.
