Dixon High School principal Stephanie Marquez announced Shawn Tutt death in a statement that read:

Dear parents and guardians of DHS students,

Sadly, we lost one of our teachers, Mr. Tutt, in a car accident this week. Mr. Tutt was a beloved teacher, friend, colleague, and leader in Dixon and we are all grieving.

Our staff all wish, more than anything, to be with our students at a time like this but it is still so important that we all stay the course with social distancing.

I know I speak for our entire DHS community when I say that our students are our lives. We miss them and want to help.

Please know that if you have a student, or know of a student, that needs support we still have support available. You can help by encouraging kids to reach out to any staff member if they are having a tough time. Most teachers are setting up communication systems for their students so kids can reach out through those systems. We can provide counseling and social emotional support.

Also, I am available. Every day. If any student needs support or has a question, they can email or call. Any time.

Please let me know if you have any questions and we will get through this, Dixon Strong.

Respectfully,

Stephanie Marquez
Principal

Stephanie Marquez
Directora
