Adrian Medearis death – dead, obituary: 48 year old Adrian Medearis was shot & killed May 8, 2020 Friday morning by a Houston police officer during a traffic stop.
Reports online identified him as the victim of the officer involved shooting, which according to the Houston Police, happened at the North Freeway northbound feeder at Beltway following a traffic stop that began at 1:05 am.
The victim was shot after the officer pulled him over in a parking lot on Esplanade for going more than 90 mph around 1:05 a.m.
A field sobriety test was administered and officer determined the man was possibly drunk. He then tried to arrest the man, and reportedly, a struggle broke out.
Houston Police Department says during the struggle, the officer pulled out his Taser and fired it.
Reports say the suspect was able to get the Taser in his hands and that’s when the officer fired several rounds. Police say the suspect was shot at least twice.
The officer’s body cam and dash cam were recording during the tragic incident.
The suspect was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Adrian Medearis death has sent shock waves in his community. The 48-year old singer founded the contemporary choir, God’s Anointed People (GAP) and was also a director for the PVAMU BSM gospel choir where he connected with many Houston artists.

At this time of writing this story, Adrian Medearis cause of death is still under investigation by the Houston Police Department, District Attorney’s office.
